Fast Fact Note-taking

We have our first homework assignment. Students are bringing home some information on the respiratory system which we have been studying in class. They are to read the pages again, and then record fast facts on the recording sheet which answer the following questions:

• What is the respiratory system?
• What does it do? (2 main jobs) 
• How does breathing work?

We have been reviewing and practicing note-taking in class during Social Studies. Students are learning to not copy sentences. Instead, they are to record key words and to use as few words as possible. They should also be using a bullet or a hyphen to record facts. Finally, a new fact goes on a new line. The goal is for students to record the main ideas about the system. Those students who wish to extend their thinking can record additional facts as well. This homework will be due back on Tuesday, November 14.

Today we played a game called Prof vs. Classe in French to review our weather words. Students who wish to practice French at home can go to Quizlet and search for thefriesenfiles. I have created a class called Division 6 which has study sets for students to use. Have fun!
