We are winding things down and finishing up our year. Students have been hard at work over the last month on narrative stories. This project has allowed students to focus on the entire writing process: planning, drafting, revising, editing and publishing. In addition, we have worked on using dialogue (conventions and synonyms for 'said'), strong beginnings, transition words, sentence variety (length and style), and conventions (capitals, punctuation, and spelling). If you visit the school, check out the good copies on our bulletin board outside the classroom.
We are wrapping up our math program looking at probability and data management. This week we have been looking at two types of graphs: pictographs and bar graphs. Students are learning how to construct graphs and how to interpret graphs.
In the final stretches, here are a few dates to make you aware of:
1. Library books due - now!
2. Concert - June 21 at 1pm or 6:30 pm (musical performance)
3. Camp Read - June 22
4. Play Day - June 27
5. Year End assembly - June 28
