Class Meetings

Friday is our Remembrance Day assembly. We are collecting donations for poppies if you would like to contribute.

We have already had our third class meeting. They are scheduled weekly and students rotate through taking turns as Chair of the meeting. In our classroom, we have a problem/suggestion box where students can place forms to be discussed at class meetings. Our meetings begin with bouqets. These are verbal compliments to the Chair of the meeting. We are learning a lot about how to give a sincere compliment.

The class meeting is a great way to develop leadership skills in students as well as to teach students about the problem-solving process. I have found them to be a very meaningful part of our classroom community. After reviewing old business and discussing new business, we end our class meeting with general compliments or thank you's to anyone in the class.
