Simple Machines Webquest

Instead of reading about simple machines from our textbook, we are going to take a tour around the internet looking at information about simple machines. This kind of tour is called a webquest.

How does it work?
You will be visiting several websites to learn more about simple machines. They are all linked from the main Webquest page. You will need to return back to the main page after visiting each website. You will need to record notes on your planning page as you learn about each of the six simple machines.

What is our learning intention?
Our learning intention is to understand how the simple machines work and how they make work easier.

How will we know when we get there?
  • You will be able to name all of the six simple machines and give an example of each one.
  • You will be able to explain how they provide a mechanical advantage (or make work easier).
  • You will be able to create a simple or compound machine of your own.
